EPTAC Corporation Introduces New Interactive "Hands-On" PCB Inspection Program

Manchester, NH -- July 10, 2009 -- EPTAC Corporation announces the availability of a new program “Interactive PCB Inspection Lab”.  This class was developed to target the rising demand for developing skills to quickly and effectively evaluate the quality of printed circuit assemblies.

This one-day program complements current offerings addressing the knowledge portion of IPC-A-610 “The Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies” and J-STD-001 “Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies”.  Offered in conjunction with current certification programs, a student can now take those “learned” accept/reject criteria and apply them in a real-time, hands-on situation.

Students learn in a daylong hands-on exercise, increasing in complexity of board layout and defects, how to systemically apply techniques and proven methods of viewing a board and locating anomalies that can later be addressed in rework and repair. “We have tried to incorporate techniques that allow the student to better understand when he or she looks at an assembly, how to quickly make calls as to whether there is a defect present or not,” comments Bob Heckman the developer of the program and Master Instructor at EPTAC. “We are trying to develop their skills in inspection to complement the knowledge they have acquired from IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 training.”

Classes are currently being offered and can be scheduled at your facility by contacting Sales via email at sales@eptac.com or by telephone at 1.800.643.7822.  Additional information on the program and a complete 2009 schedule can be found at the following URL: http://www.eptac.com/training/pcb_lab.htm .
