J-STD-001 Rev E to F Comparison
It’s time to upgrade! The most referenced and globally recognized electronics process standard is now changing. J-STD-001, “Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies” is now at Revision F and there are things you need to know about this new transition.
With all three classes of product being addressed, in not only soldering materials but also processes, this new revision goes beyond support of traditional alloys and includes the support and use of lead-free materials and manufacturing.
There have been significant changes to plated-through hole (PTH) and minimum fill requirements along with new criteria to address new technology in SMT terminations just to name a few.
Easier to read, interpret and absorb, this revision complements and maintains the integral connection between companion documents like the IPC-A-610, now in Revision F, and IPC-HDBK-001.
We know you’re busy and staying on top of all the changes that take place in our industry can be daunting. That’s why it’s our mission to keep a step ahead. When an IPC standard is revised, EPTAC is there to evaluate, comprehend, coordinate and communicate these changes to our customers. If you need the latest update on J-STD-001 Revision F, give us a call and get all the information you need when you need it.
