SAE AS5553, “Counterfeit Electronic Parts: Avoidance, Detection, Mitigation and Disposition” is the definitive standard developed by the G-19 committee and published April 2009 for Aerospace Contract Manufacturers and Original Equipment Manufacturers purchasing electronic parts from the Open Market. This step by step standard outlines the requirements for processes and procedures to help insure that authentic parts are procured.

This one (1) hour training program provides you with an overview and insight to the standard and its implementation requirements. Due to the continued infiltration of counterfeit parts, it has become imperative, to insure authentic parts are being received, that all the necessary steps in the procurement process be constantly reviewed and executed upon.

This course provides critical information to Contract Manufacturers (CM’s) and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s) and those responsible for the quality and reliability of the parts purchased and inspected, including management, purchasing, quality and associated supervisors.
