Question: What are the requirements for Visual Acuity? Could not find a specific reference in either J-STD-001 or IPC -A-610.
Answer: There are no visual acuity requirements in either the J-STD-001 or the IPC-A-610 documents. We’ve gone back 19 years to Revision C of the J-STD-001 and there were no references to any requirements for any visual acuity.
The only place this requirement was referenced was in the SPA
CE Addendum for J-STD-001, not the J-STD-001 specification itself. It has now been removed as a requirement in the SPACE Addendum and it is part of their (NASA or related contractors) hiring process.
