About Our Partner
Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWIT) was founded in 1949 and offers affordable professional and technical training for today’s job market. Training is available in 44 programs, with more than 100 professional/technical degree and certificate options.
Our mission at Lake Washington Institute of Technology is to prepare students for today’s careers and tomorrow’s opportunities. Through industry partnerships, we continue to keep our finger on the pulse of rapidly changing technical industries, maintaining a curriculum that teaches not only the most current skills and technologies but those required in the near future.
Through technical pathways for students and working professionals, we remain focused on student achievement, helping each best prepare for their career goals.
LWIT is one of 34 community and technical two-year institutions of higher education in Washington state. We are centrally located in Washington state’s high tech corridor, with the main campus in Kirkland. We employ more than 350 experienced faculty members, serving more than 7,900 students every year. Through practical and hands-on education, our students receive valuable professional and technical skills required in today’s workforce while our small class sizes and modern equipment simulate an actual job environment, giving our students a competitive edge. We also offer flexible entry and exit points, allowing students to embark on any level of training any quarter of the year. Whether you’re a recent high school graduate or a worker looking for a new career, LWIT will give you the skills you need to quickly find a well-paying job in a high-demand field.
