Building to IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001

Question: I see so many places say that they build to IPC-A-610, yet I thought you build to J-STD-001, and inspect to IPC-A-610. Is this correct?

Question: I see so many places say that they build to IPC-A-610, yet I thought you build to J-STD-001, and inspect to IPC-A-610. Is this correct?

Answer: You are correct, 610 is an inspection document and 001 is a process document. You can only inspect to 610, there are no process requirements within the document, whereas 001 defines and qualifies your materials being used in the manufacturing process.
