Manchester, NH — May 13, 2008 — EPTAC Corporation recently conducted a J-STD-001 Electronics Manufacturing Compliance Audit of CT Circuits, the PCB operation within Columbia Tech, a Coghlin Company in Worcester, MA and awarded the firm a Certificate of Compliance for meeting the requirements of this standard.

EPTAC’s J-STD-001 Electronics Manufacturing Compliance Audit is a program that provides for the extensive auditing of a facility and the over 100+ procedures outlined in IPC J-STD-001 “Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies”. The standard outlines the procedures that must be in place for a facility and its process to be in compliance with J-STD-001 and its associated standards. EPTAC provides for an initial evaluation of a facility where process requirements are defined, reviewed and implemented, so that a successful audit can be performed at a later date.

Leo Lambert, Vice President and Technical Director for EPTAC Corporation conducted the process and oversaw the initial evaluation and audit of Columbia Tech. “Auditing a facility to the requirements of J-STD-001 requires commitments from all the participants as the specification is complicated and diversified,” noted Mr. Lambert. ” We have to spend time reviewing both the business side of the manufacturing operation, the training levels and skills of the operators and finally the quality of the product. All these issues must come together to validate the program and this certification.”

Chris Coghlin, President and CEO of Columbia Tech was instrumental in pushing Columbia Tech towards compliance. “The Coghlin Companies are committed to providing our customers with defect-free products. Our commitment to J-STD-001 further ensures tight process control and that quality is being built into the products we provide for our customers, saving time and money for all,” stated Mr. Coghlin.

Columbia Tech, Cogmedix, Coghlin Precision and DCI Engineering Services are subsidiaries of Coghlin Companies, Inc., a family owned company in its fourth generation of operation in Worcester, MA.  Combined, the four companies turn innovative opportunities into commercially viable products.  Columbia Tech, Cogmedix, Coghlin Precision and DCI provide a wide range of manufacturing, engineering, machining and certified welding and fulfillment services to a diversified group of industries including:  semiconductor, medical device, food service, storage, networking, alternative energy, security and military.  Columbia Tech is ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 13485:2003 Registered.
